My Austin Vida Community Essay Series to Launch

We’re launching a community essay series called My Austin Vida. It’s an opportunity for a community member to write about their Austin Latinidad experience through the lens of resilience.

Our historias are a big part of what makes our community special. We’re all about amplifying our gente’s stories, but a big part of Austin Vida’s mission is to create spaces so more community members have opportunities to tell their OWN stories.

That’s why we are launching a community essay series called My Austin Vida. It’s an opportunity for our comunidad to share their Austin Latinidad experience through the lens of resilience.

We haven’t worked out all the details and that’s okay. We intend to shape this series together.

What we do know is that you don’t have to be a professional writer to contribute. You can work with an Austin Vida editor (soy yo) to help bring your story to life. It also doesn’t have to be a written story – maybe it’s a photo essay, video, or something else.

All of us have a story. And these stories deserve to be told because you never know how it’s going to inspire someone else. And the more we see stories of ourselves pushing forward, the more we know that sí se puede.
