SouthAmericano Fest Brings Music, Community Together

Musicians from South America and beyond came together for a locally-led festival during South by Southwest.

SouthAmericano Fest first began as a festival during South by Southwest spotlighting Brazilian musicians. Today, Austin musician and festival organizer Frederico Geib brings together artists from across South America and beyond to celebrate not just mĂşsica but community.

At the Sahara Lounge this spring, SouthAmericano Fest brought together families, music lovers, curious festival goers and cultural advocates for a beautiful event united by music.

The festival this year celebrated several bands representing from Brazil, Colombia, Peru and more. Photographer Mari G. Hernandez captured the showcase.
