Nowadays, it can be hard to find a native Austinite in the wild. The city is rapidly growing with new residents every day, ever-changing skylines, and businesses coming and going, which leave very little of old Austin. Dove Springs, a Southeast Austin neighborhood, is where I grew up, and it is also changing before our eyes.
However, there are special places still around that remind me of my childhood and even new places that make me proud to represent Dove Springs. With the “Dove Springs Proud” video series, I highlight the art, places and areas that continue to bring our comunidad together.
From grabbing a book at the Southeast Austin Public Library to visiting the new Dove Springs Public Health Facility for care, there are many ways neighbors are helping neighbors and sharing a piece of Dove Springs light with others.
