Cuban singer and Buena Vista Social Club member Omara Portuondo is performing Thursday, Oct. 7, at The Paramount Theatre in Austin. This is a rare opportunity to see one of Cuba’s iconic performers and hear one of its timeless voices. Portuondo is currently on tour in support of her Latin Grammy-winning album, Gracias. As the only female member of the Buena Vista Social Club, Portuondo stays busy with a hectic touring schedule all over the world. She has performed with many American greats, including Nat King Cole. When she’s not on tour, Portuondo performs regularly at her favorite spots in Havana.

The Paramount is located at 713 Congress Ave. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 8. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets can be purchased for this show here.
