Los Angeles-based bilingual indie band Monte Negro recently played a headlining Texas tour that included stops in Austin and San Antonio. Austin Vida sat down with the quartet to talk about the new EP Fugitives of Pleasure / Pasajeros, with its philosophically themed title tracks and its hip hop-esque cover of the Caifanes song “La Negra Tomasa”. Monte Negro will be swinging back through Texas later this month for a couple of opening slots for Babasonicos in Houston and Dallas. Check out Monte Negro’s MySpace page for dates.
