Watch: “I Flow” by Rene Lopez

New York based Latin soul singer Rene Lopez gets you moving with his unique style. With so much salsa around him from an early age, Lopez had music in his blood. His musical interest first began with the drums and it eventually led him to become the lead vocalist for The Authority, a rock band from the 90s. Now he is at it again, but this time adding his own spin to Latin soul.

A bit of boogaloo, Latin beats, some pop rock and a hint of electronic is exactly what is needed to make Lopez’s self-made genre of electric Latin soul, which is an acronym for his latest album, ELS. The album will be available on Aug. 30 through National Geographic World Music. Lopez collaborated with Mario Caldota and Jason Lader to co-produce the album that celebrates his Nuyorican background. Lopez has recently released his new music video for “I Flow,” which shows him in action during one of his performances at NUBLU in New York City.
