Judy Torres bringing back freestyle to Austin

For those of us who grew up in and around Austin or San Antonio in the ’90s, freestyle music was an everyday part of life. It is what we the break dancers danced to at your quinceañera until you put on Selena to break up the circle. You cruised to your Viper Compilation tapes or DJ 2DQ’s Freestlye Mixtapes in the high school parking lot. Chances are, you bought them from some cholo or chola working the mall kiosk. Freestyle was probably passed onto you by your older siblings and cousins. Those were the days.
