Download: “El Millionario” by Very Be Careful

Los Angeles-based vallenato quintet Very Be Careful will release their new song “El Millonario” on Jan. 8. The new single, which will also be released on 7-inch vinyl for those who prefer to own a physical copy of it, will be released on the label Steady Beat Recordings. “El Millonario” is part of Very Be Careful’s sixth studio album ¿Remember Me From The Party?, released in October 2012 on Downtown Pijao. The album includes five covers of classic Colombian vallenatos like Luis Enrique Martinez’ “Cumbia de Valledupar” and Alfredo Gutierrez’ “El Envenenao,” as well as original compositions like “El Mosquito” and “El Revuelto,” among others.

Very Be Careful is known for playing accordion-driven Colombian vallenato with a hint of punk, making their music a whole lot more danceable and upbeat to the crowds while still respecting the Afro-Colombian traditions. Since their formation back in 1997, the quintet has toured the U.S. and other parts of the world, gaining a loyal fan base in places like Japan and the UK, and really establishing their sound. They have performed at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK, Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, and Summerstage in the U.S., as well as opened for popular acts like Vampire Weekend, Kronos Quartet and Jack White.
