[7/3] Preview: La Fiebre at Desperados in Kyle

La FiebreFriday, July 3 will be another great Tejano show at Desperados in Kyle, when La Fiebre takes the stage. The veteran Houston-area Tejano show band will be making their debut at the new club with its ’90s-flavored hits and new material.

La Fiebre began in the late ’80s, scoring hits, earning a following, and making a name for themselves with their big-time stage show and youthful attitude. The band struck gold with the single “Borracho de Besos” in 1989, a song that remains a favorite at Tejano clubs and events everywhere. Amidst personnel changes, the guys continued to record and tour throughout the ’90s and even scored a Grammy Award nomination in 1998 in the Best Tejano Album category for their Fiebre Live…En Concierto! album.

In 2013, founding member and lead singer Pete Espinoza left the band for health reasons, and was replaced by new singer J. Angel Cantu. Their latest album, Nueva Era, released in December 2014, is available now.

Long story short: Solid ’90s-era Tejano group with a sound similar to La Mafia or La Sombra, excited to come back to central Texas with renewed energy and a new album.
