[7/26] Preview: ROGÊ at Flamingo Cantina

Tonight the Flamingo Cantina, in partnership with Austin Brazil, is proud to present on of Brazil’s rising pop stars, ROGÊ. He represents the new generation of artists of the Brazilian pop and his sound is the face of Brazil. He moves from bossa nova to samba and reggae, with the ease of someone who composes for himself, creating a fusion of all these rhythms and bringing forth a unique sound.

He has released four solo works (Rogê in 2003, Brasil em Brasa in 2008, Fala Geral in 2010, and Brenguele), and over the years sought to create sounds that synthesize the purity of each rhythm by intertwining and merging noise references. His music is so unique and appealing, a groovy kind of samba that sounds excellent.

Local support sharing the bill tonight includes Sarah Altoé and Morena Soul and samba-funk outfit Macaxeira Funk featuring frontman Frederico Geib (Suns of Orpheus, Frederico 7).
