3 Latin acts at ACL Fest 2010; lineup announced
Austinites, gente, countrymen—lend me your ears! The ACL Fest 2010 lineup has been announced and it includes everything from the super-hip (The XX, The National, Beach House) to the super-traditional (Asleep at the Wheel, Carolyn Wonderland) to the super-nostalgic (Phish, The Eagles). But where’s the Latin love? Not that we believe in quotas, but Austin City Limits could’ve done better than including only three Latin acts among the 100-plus bands playing the three-day festival. Next month at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, there’s going to be an entire Latin stage!
Oh, well. We’ll put up with all the tourists and gridlock traffic if it means we get to see Kinky, Nortec Collective and Ozomatli in one sweaty weekend. Kinky played Dallas and Houston last time they were in Texas, but they skipped Austin. Nortec’s Bostich + Fussible were in Austin last fall, and their blend of techno and Norteño music was excellent. And Ozo is Ozo. ‘Nuff said.
Three-day passes are all sold out, but single-day tickets are still available.

In the meantime, here’s some awesome live footage by Blastro from Nortec’s last Austin visit…
