[4/24] Preview: Grupo Vida at Tejano Ranch

Grupo Vida

On Friday, Apr. 24, Totally Tejano Fridays continue at Tejano Ranch with Grupo Vida. The San Antonio show band will once again bring their big-time stage show and high-octane brand of Tejano to the North Austin club.

They might seem young with their hip, edgy look, but Grupo Vida has been around since the mid-1990s and are known for their energetic, amped-up style. After launching the careers of accordionist Sunny Sauceda and vocalist Eddie Gonzalez, Vida has found success and three Grammy award nominations with former singer and sax player Art Tigerina. The group has also ventured into country music with its alter ego, The Electric Cowboys, touring with some of the genre’s biggest stars and releasing its first country album in 2005.

Long story short: A big exciting Tejano show, with a strong chance of some country selections as well.

Tejano Ranch is located at 7601 North Lamar, just south of Highway 183 in north Austin. The doors open at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $10 before 9 p.m, and $12 cover after 9 p.m. 18+ are welcome.
