Tu Voz

We’re launching a first-person series called Tu Voz. It’s an opportunity for a community member to write about their Austin Latinidad experience through the lens of resilience.

Tu Voz

Our historias are a big part of what makes our community special. We’re all about amplifying our gente’s stories, but a big part of Austin Vida’s mission is to open up spaces so that more community members have opportunities to tell their OWN stories.

That’s why we’re interested in launching a regular first-person series called Tu Voz (Your Voice). It’s an opportunity for a community member to write about their Austin Latinidad experience through the lens of resilience.

We haven’t worked out all the details and that’s okay. We can shape this series together.

What we do know is that you don’t have to be a professional writer to contribute. You can work with an Austin Vida editor to help bring your story to life. It also doesn’t necessarily have to be a written story – maybe it’s a photo essay or something else.

All of us have a story. And it deserves to be told because you never know how it’s going to inspire someone else. And the more we see stories of ourselves pushing forward, the more we know that sí se puede.
