How St. Edward’s University has uplifted migrant farmworker students for 50 years
The College Assistance Migrant Program scholarship at St. Edward’s University turns 50 this year. It’s the longest-running program of its kind in the nation. CAMP scholars, whose families do seasonal or migrant farm work, are often the first of their families to attend college. Read more.

Free Thanksgiving Dinners/Drives are being hosted throughout the city. Volunteers also needed.
Join Mendez Recreation Center (2407 Canterbury St.) for free food, vendors and entertainment on Nov. 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Join a drive-thru event at George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center (5801 Ainez Dr.) on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Pick up a free turkey, sides and dessert while supplies last. Volunteers are also needed to distribute items. For more info, call 512-974-3840.
Head to the Pan Am Recreation Center (2100 E. Third St. ) for a drive-thru Thanksgiving box giveaway on Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. – noon.
H-E-B’s annual Feast of Sharing event will be back in person at the Palmer Events Center on Nov. 22 from 4-8 p.m. Event will feature music, family activities, free health and wellness screenings, and Texas-style meals. Want to volunteer? Info here.
