How Puerto Rican Cultural Center helped put island’s cultura on Central Texas map

We heard from many in our comunidad who are looking for ways to make a difference after the Supreme Court’s ruling. We’re dedicating this space to volunteer opportunities for those who would like to register folks to vote.

?️ The Austin area League of Women Voters seeks volunteers to help with voter education in local high schools ahead of the 2022 midterms as well as helping register voters.

?️ Jolt Action, an organization that mobilizes young Latino voters, is accepting voter registration and voter turnout volunteers.

?️ Learn how to be a member of the HABLA y VOTA Action Fund, which works on initiatives from organizing candidate forums to voter education. For more information, email HABLAyVOTA@gmail.com.

? We’re doing the happy dance because Austin Vida Editor & Publisher Nancy Flores was accepted to be a Maynard200 Media Entrepreneur Fellow.

¿Qué es eso? Pues, it means that she’s learning how to be a better media entrepreneur by receiving training and mentorship from theMaynard Institute for Journalism Education. Maynard has been a longtime leader in driving diversity in journalism.

Y quiere decir que Austin Vida will only get stronger as we begin to grow. Let’s do this, familia!
