Early voting has started! Vote early from Dec. 1-9.

Early Voting goes from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Here’s a list of early voting locations in Travis County.

Election Day is Dec. 13. Travis County voters can vote at any polling place in the county. Check out Election Day voting locations here. Polls will be open 7 a.m. -7 p.m. Find information about voter registration, poll wait times and more on

Holiday Toy Drives benefit children in need. Consider dropping off a new toy at these upcoming events.

  • Dec. 1-9:Do Good ATX‘s 3rd Annual Holiday Toy Drive has two drop off locations at Blazer Tag Adventure Center on Ben White Boulevard and First Independent Baptist on Bluff Springs. Venmo and CashApp donations for Do Good ATX also accepted.
  • Dec. 4: Brown Impressions 9th Annual Show and Shine Toy Drive at Eastland Plaza at 1144 Airport Blvd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families welcome to low rider show, photos with Santa and more.
  • Dec. 17: J. Colunga’s 4th Annual Christmas en el Barrio Toy Drive at Parque Zaragoza Recreation Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

✨ Plans for the long-awaited expansion of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center take a momentous step forward on Dec. 10.

That’s when the public is invited to join the groundbreaking ceremonyfor the center”s second phase of construction. Head to 600 River St. at 9:30 a.m. for a ceremonial blessing following by a ceremony and groundbreaking.

Phase two is expected to be completed in early 2025. In the meantime, the center will be closed. However, the MACC is working with partners across the city to find alternate locations to host their programming. Learn more about the expansion here.

We’re muy excited!! Austin Vida Editor & Publisher Nancy Flores won a Media Entrepreneur Award from the Maynard Institute, a leader in newsroom diversity. All of y’all were there in spirit as she participated in a pitch competition presenting on Austin Vida.

Based on the scores from a panel of media business experts, Maynard faculty and alumni, Nancy Flores was recognized for her outstanding media venture pitch. ¡Sí se puede!
