Nuestra Cultura Shines at SXSW

¡Saludos!

Missed the festival or couldn’t see everything you wanted? We got you.

We may be a little bleary-eyed after wall-to-wall coverage of all things cultura at the festival, but it’s all worth it to ensure that our gente, historias, and talento all shine brightly when all eyes are on Austin.

Gracias to everyone who has been sharing our articles, following us on social and cheering on the coverage during this amazing week. My sincerest thanks to Team Austin Vida during SXSW: Kessly Salinas and Isadora Day who helped with ensuring that la voz of the comunidad could be heard throughout the fest.

I’d like to dedicate our SXSW coverage to Tejano music great Fito Olivares, who died March 17. Known for songs including "Juana La Cubana" and "El Colesterol," Olivares inspired a generation of artists and was often the soundtrack to our happy moments. His legacy lives on as will his music. Listen to a Spanish-language interview of Olivares by Austin’s own Rancho Alegre podcast here.
