La Murga, mental health ofrendas y más

¡Saludos! Have you been to an Austin FC game? The regular fútbol season starts next week, and we’re loving how La Murga de Austin, the all-volunteer band collective, incorporates cultura to create an unforgettable crowd experience.

I’m so proud to publish an English and Spanish article by Austin Vida contributor Camila Llorente, who dove into all things La Murga! This article was possible through a collaboration with the University of Texas’ Reporting en Español class taught by the amazing local poet, translator and journalist Liliana Valenzuela.

I’m also excited that by popular demand, you’ll be seeing more mental health columns. Magaly Arredondo Lopez has joined the Austin Vida familia as our mental health columnist. Expect to see Magaly’s Mental Health Ofrenda column quarterly.
