Join Austin Vida on Sat., Sept. 24 for Open Congress at The Texas Tribune Festival — a full day of must-see interviews and provocative discussions with names you know and others you should. Happening along Congress Avenue between 7th and 11th streets, Open Congress brings Texas’ breakout politics and policy ideas event to downtown Austin’s main thoroughfare for all to enjoy.

Want to hang out with other BIPOC folks to network, hangout and build community? Head to BIPOC Brews from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Lustre Pearl East.

Calling all artists! The arts nonprofit MAS Cultura has opened submissions to be featured in the upcoming exhibit “Luz,” during its November MAS Cultura Fest. All local Latino, emerging and established artists are encouraged to submit their artwork. All mediums will be considered. Deadline is Sept. 20. Apply here.

Know a high schooler interested in climate change and environmental justice? The Austin Youth Climate Equity Council is now accepting applications. The program is in partnership with EcoRise and Austin’s Office of Sustainability. Stipends will be offered. Deadline is Sept. 11. Apply here.
