Austin-based Cilantro Boombox is Austin’s answer to international groups like Los Amigos Invisibles. Fronted by Félix Pacheco, Cilantro Boombox features touring and studio members of Ocote Soul Sounds, Black Joe Lewis and Hard Proof Afrobeat. Their music blends elements of funk, disco, hip hop, jazz and electronic-based music with traditional Latin rhythms. The group recently finished recording their debut self-titled album, mixed by Adrián Quesada of Grupo Fantasma and Brownout.
Cilantro Boombox will be celebrating the release of their debut full-length album at Hotel Vegas on Friday, September 14. Yes, we have two tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Austin Vida readers.
