Once again Austin Vida is bringing great Latin music to the historic Cactus Cafe. On Friday, June 22, we are presenting the incredible Latin roots rockera Patricia Vonne for the first time on an Austin Vida showcase. We hope you are as excited as we are.
Opening the night’s showcase is Austin-based Rock en Español band Kalua. The group will perform a special acoustic set fit for the listening room style of the Cactus Cafe. While many are familiar with the rockero in lead singer Juan Diaz, be ready to see the crooner in Diaz come out as he is a trained mariachi singer. Kalua performs at 8:30 p.m.
Headliner Patricia Vonne is many things, but first and foremost she is a talented musician. Sure she has famous siblings and has been in a few movies, but she has every music credential in the book. The native San Antonian is a longtime Austin favorite. Vonne performs at 10 p.m.
The Cactus Cafe & Bar is located at 2247 Guadalupe Street. It is across from the University Co-op and is located in the southwest corner of the Texas Union building. The Texas Union, at the corner of 24th and Guadalupe, is on the University of Texas campus. Entrance to the Cactus is through the main West Mall Lobby.
Doors open at 8 p.m. Music starts at 8:30 pm. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets are available for this show here. Tickets at the door are $10. Visit the event page on Facebook here and on Do512 here. Promotional support provided by Pachanga Fest and SATX Music.
