Ballet Folklórico de México was founded by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández in 1952. Since then, the world renowned folklórico have performed more than five thousand presentations. The music, dance and costume of Mexican folklore combined with the talent of their artists have achieved national and international success.

On Tuesday, Ballet Folklórico de México will perform in Austin at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to the headlining performance, there will be a pre-show happy hour on the City Terrace that starts at 6 p.m. and kicks off with an exciting free performance by Austin High School’s very own Ballet Folklorico group.
