The first thing Cine Las Americas’ executive director says is that he speaks fluent Spanish, because he’s Mexican—half chilango (from Mexico City), half regio (from Monterrey). He joined as a volunteer in 2002. “But I really wanted to do more,” says Eugenio del Bosque. He became the festival’s programmer the following year and its executive director in 2006.
